History

The Missouri Propane Gas Association was organized on June 29, 1945, at the Governor Hotel in Jefferson City, MO, by interested members of the industry.

The Association formally petitioned the Cole County Circuit Court for a Pro Forma Decree of Incorporation on July 5, 1947. On July 17, 1947, the Secretary of State issued a Pro Forma Decree of Incorporation to the Missouri LP-Gas (now “Propane Gas”) Association, under the provisions of Article 10, Chapter 33, of the Revised Statutes of Missouri, 1939, and amendments thereto, for Religious and Charitable Corporations, sometimes called “not-for-profit corporations.”

The original Bylaws and Constitution were adopted on July 10, 1945. Since then, the Board has amended the bylaws numerous times to reflect the changing interests of the industry.

MPGA also has a rich history of member involvement through meetings, events, and engagement. You can find the latest opportunities to meet, learn, network, and relax with others in the industry through the calendar on our events page.
